Last night I went to the last production of Tartuffe preformed on campus. The gates opened at 6 so my friends and I decided to head over at 6:45 because the play would not start until the sun went down. We sat on a blanket on the grass for about an hour talking about random things and playing a few games before the play finally stated at around 7:45. It was a very interesting play about a man who is basically decisiving a man to get the deed to his house and land. The man being decived had almost made his own daughter marry this awful man, Tartuffe, but he had no idea of the man’s true intentions. Tartuffe was actually in love with the wife and just wanted to get the man’s land. It was actually a very funny play and it was funny to see the faces of the other actors on stage when the would react to certain lines. I think the students did a very good job putting on the play and really made all the characters come to life. Last year I heard they put on the production “Of Mice And Men” and I would have really liked to see it. My freshman year of high school I had to read the book... and I did not exactly read the whole thing but then we watched the movie in class. It was a great movie and it would have been really cool watching it in a live production. I cannot wait to see what production they will put on next year.
Thanks for reading my blog! Have you seen Tartuffe?

My Crazy Weekend
Friday night I went to Rainbow Prom with some friends and had a lot of fun. They put on a drag show and it was amazing to watch. We had screamed so much we lost our voices the next day. The event was over at 11 but we were starving so we went to McDonald’s and finally made it back to the dorms around 12:30. The same friends and I were going to go to an event in Modesto the next morning so we all had to try and get some sleep but I just could not fall asleep. I finally went to bed at around 2:30 and had to wake up at around 7 so I could get ready to go to the event. The event was called “Walk A Mile In Her Shoes” and all the guys had the walk a mile wearing red heels so they would see how it feels for woman who get sexually harassed. It was fun but I was tired because I got very little sleep and starving because I had barely eaten anything all day and they said they would give us pizza when we got back to the dorms. We made it back to the dorms sarlier than expected so the pizza was not ready yet and they told us to meet in the housing office at 12:30 because the pizza would be there. Well the pizza was not there one time and was an hour late so everyone waiting for it was starving and tied but once they ate I am sure they felt better. After that a friend and I watch a tv show then got bored so we played pool, then we got hungry so we decided to go to the village cafe to eat. After we ate we went back to my dorm and watched two movies. By the time the second movie was over it was almost 1 in the morning. I finally went to bed at around 2 but I also had to get up kind of early again. This time was because I was going to my aunt and uncle’s house warming party. My aunt picked me up and we went to their house. It was a super cute house and I can’t wait to spend more time with them there. I found out they will be getting a puppy at the end of May and said that I can come over and help with the dog. I cannot wait until I can see the new puppy.

Gym Time
Recently I have been going to the gym on campus. I use to play volleyball so that is how I used to exercise up until my senor year of high school. Now that I am in college and the gym is free with our tuition might as well take advantage of it. The first semester I went a few times but ended up being too busy to go, then over winter break I hurt my foot while playing open gym volleyball and it has been hurting me since then. I have decided I will not let that hold me back anymore and have been starting to go to the gym more often, but I would like to talk about my most recent experience. I went with a friend on Saturday but I am not so sure that was my best decision. I had only eaten two mini breakfast sandwiches earlier that morning and then ate a bag of chips and candy then went to the gym... basically on an empty stomach. We ran on the treadmill for 20 minutes and after the work out was over I felt super dizzy and had to sit down for a little before continuing on with the other part of my workout. We continued on with a few other machines before going outside to the track and did a few laps and lunges. I was fine after drinking more water and cooling down a little after the treadmill but i was still hungry so after we came back we showed and I made her food. When I woke up the next morning I was super sore. It was mostly from the lunges and from being lazy and not working out for a few days. Moral of the story is always eat something healthy and a little more filling than candy and chips before working out, and also making sure you drink enough water because being dizzy while workout is one of the worst experiences. I has happened to me in the past and you would think I would already learn from my mistakes but I guess I have not. The soreness is worth it though because it is proof that I am doing something productive in my life.

Crazy Weekend
This past weekend I was very busy. Some friends and I went to the gym Friday night and then after we were done spent a couple of hours at the jacuzzi. It was the first time I had gone in since I came to school in August and it was a little weird at first but after awhile we were just joking around and singing along to the music one of my friend's had playing. The next day the same group of friends and I decided to go to this children's fair NAK put on at a park in Turlock to help support them. We got to pet a K9 dog, but spent most of our time talking o the firefighters. One of them showed us what was in each compartment on the sides of the engine, and then another one came and we decided to ask them the most random questions we could come up with. They told us that they go out on a lot of random calls for the most random things from changing batteries in a smoke detector to stress calls. It was fun talking to them but we decided to leave and get slushies from 711. One of my friends decided we wanted to get boba instead of slushies so we went to Quicklys after 711 then went back to the dorms. At the dorms one friend went to take a nap while the rest of us decided to sit by the pool until we heard that the weekend trip to an Escape Room for Housing still had a lot of spaces left. Three of us decided to go. We all signed in and took the bus to Modesto ate pizza then went to the escape room. there was 14 of us total so we split into two groups of 7. My group did the CSI: Modesto Room and we had to split into separate rooms and talk to each other through a glass door. It was frustrating though because the people who were in the other room were not very good at giving us (my friends and I) the information we needed to open the locks on our side of the door. We ended up running out of time but the guy supervising our room said he was impressed because most people do not make it to how far we got. Moral of the story is if you want to escape out of the room you should make sure you are in a room full of people who know what they are doing and like puzzles or riddles, or make sure you go with people you know so you can delegate work easier.

Spring Break!
During Spring Break I did a lot of things. The first weekend I went to a family easter party and had a lot of fun. My aunt flew in from Washington and it was nice seeing her because I had not seen her in a few years. I also saw a lot of family that I do not normally talk to and it was nice catching up and seeing how many new baby cousins I now have. Over Spring Break I also started a new TV Show called Ray Donavan because my mother said it was really good and told me to watch it. After watching the first episode I was hooked and watched about three or four episode everyday. I am now on season two but I was not able to watch it these past couple of days. I could not watch it because I was helping my family clean up our house and add some new things to it. My sister and mother worked on cleaning up the bathroom and adding a new cupboard while my father and I worked on putting backsplash in the kitchen. My father and I are both very maticulous so it took us a while for the job to get done. My mother wanted the tiles to go higher though so my sister took me back to campus on Sunday while my mom went to the store to get more tile so my father could finish the backsplash and make it higher.

Spring Break Is So Close, Yet So Far Away!
As I had discussed in my last blog post my mid-term papers had been making me stress out. While I finally finished my second paper and I also turned in that one a week early so I could get it out of the way. After I had finished both of my mid-term papers I had to write an essay for my English class. I was having a very hard time finding a topic to write about because I wanted to write about something that was interesting to me but not very controversal. The topic I ended up writing about was caffeine and wether or not it is bad for you. I wrote it within three hours and I hope it is what my teacher is looking for. Other than writing an essay my mom came to visit me on Friday and it was a lot of fun. She brought food for my roommate and I and we all sat in my room and talked about the most random things. I cant wait until I go home next week for spring break because spending some time with my mom made me miss my home, my family, and my dogs that much more. I am happy I do not have classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays because now my family can pick me up on Wednesday after my classes are done for the day since I have Thursday free and we all have Friday off. I hope I do not have a lot of work I need to get done over the break and I can just relax and spend time with my family and friends.

Mid-terms!!
Last week I found out I have to write two mid-term papers for my two online classes. One Is due this upcoming Friday, March 23, and the other one is due March 30. I decided I would try and start them early, so I could get them down before the deadlines rolled around. Last weekend I started the paper that was due first and was able to find my topic pretty easily and was able to finish it by Tuesday afternoon. I had my mom proof read it and then had my sister proof, and then I read through one last time and turned it in on Saturday. I then wanted to start my next mid-term paper that is due on March 30, but I have not been having any luck. I had not been able to find a good topic to write about. Once I had found something to write about it is hard to find any information online about it, so I will have to look deeper on the internet for more information. So far, I have Two sentences written down and am hoping to get this paper down soon. I know I still have two weeks to write it, but I want to finish it early, so I can write yet another essay for my English class. I hope I can finish both of these essays pretty fast, so I do not have to stress about them for too much longer.
Thanks for reading my blog! Are any of you stressing over your mid-terms?

Leadership Tryouts
Last week on Friday I went to leadership tryouts, so I could become a Peer Acedimic Leader (PAL). A PAL is basically someone who will help their floor of students with any trouble they might have throughout the school year wether it be personal or acedemic. I wanted to become a PAL because I am really good at my acedemics, I like to help people, and so I could be more involved in school life. At tryouts I was nervous at first because I absolutely hate speaking in front of people, it gives me anxiety. After hearing some of the presentation in the beginning I started to become more comfortable until we split into our groups. The first station my group went to was the cheer station where we had to come up with a cheer that had to incorporate all of our names into it. It was a little awkward at first because not many of us knew each other. We eventually got it down but then we found out we would have to do our cheer in front of everyone trying out. We went to the next room were we got into pairs where one of us was blindfolded and the other had to navigate them through a field of cups on the floor without hitting any of them. The next room was the scenario room where we had to go up one by one and act out a scenario that we would have to go through with the RAs and PALs of this year. I was also very nervous for this room because like I said I hate talking in front of people. The next room we split into two groups and had a list of things we had to get done and would get points for them and by that point we had all gotten used to each other so I believe we were talking and laughing a lot more. As we would go through the list and do the things the people hosting the room would walk up to us and come up with little scenarios as well and ask us what we would do in those situations. We were all a little confused at first but we eventually got it down. The next and final game room was a box of square where we all had to fit our feet into the squares as they consecutively got smaller and as the boxes got smaller we either could only say one word or could not even talk at all. At the last and smallest box though we were allowed to talk and we where able to fit inside the box. With four people as the base and three of us standing on top of their feet. We finally went back to the big room we started in and we had to do our cheers in front of everybody. Everyone was laughing and had a great time. The next step is to see in I get called in for an interveiw. I guess we will just have to wait and see if I get called back in.
Thanks for reading my blog! Have you ever wanted to be and RA or PAL or have you ever had crazy tryouts like this?

Surprises In The Mail
For my biology class I need scantrons so I could take the exams. Last week I asked my mother to get me scantrons from amazon. She told me they would be here on Tuesday February 27 and I checked on the 28 and they were still not in so I texted my mother and told her. She called me later on that day and asked if I had checked again and I had to explain to her if they did not have it this afternoon then they would not have it later on that day. She said ok but said she was excited for me to get the package because she also got me a surprise. I told her I would check the next day and she said ok. So now it was Thursday March 1 and I went to go check the mail. I went to the mail box got the slip went into the housing office and signed for the package. After I looked up my eyes almost jumped out of my head because the package the lady gave me was huge. I walked back to my dorm and put it on my bed. My roommate asked me what I got and I told her I had no idea. I opened the huge box and right onto was an envelope that have the scantrons in them and I looked inside the box to see another large box inside it. I opened the box and it was full of snack foods such as chips, trail mix, crackers, and popcorn. I got really excited because now I have snack foods to eat. She called me and said she saw it and decided to get it for me because it was cheap and she just wanted to see how it would work out. All in all I am happy that I now have scantrons so I can take my exams and that I now have snacks I can eat while studying for said exams.

Missing Home... And The Snow
Last semester I went home over the weekend quite often but this semester I have not gone back home yet. There was a storm that came through, so we got about half a foot of snow. I was angry because I was not able to see it because I was not there. I love the snow and it had not snowed all Christmas break, so I had not seen it. The day after I came back to campus it had snowed a little at my house, and I was mad I missed it. Now that more snow has come and actually stuck to the ground I am mad because I was not able to see it. It has been such a long time since I have seen the snow and it always looks so pretty when you wake up after a night of snowfall. My parents sent me pictures of our house after the snow had fallen and I got so jealous because I was not there. I am not jealous of the fact that they had woken up to frozen pipes though. It always sucks waking up and not being able to get ready for the day or cleaning off the cars in the morning to go to work or school. This really just made me miss home and I cannot wait until the next time I get to go back and see my family and dogs. Hopefully next time I go home I it will either snow or we can take a ride up in elevation a little, so I can see it.
Thanks for reading my blog! Have you ever seen the snow because I know quite a few people here who have never seen it.

Dean's List Dinner
On Thursday I went to the Dean's List Dinner. I was invited to go to this dinner because I had a grade point average of 3.5 or higher last semester. My mother and cousin were my guests to the dinner and it turned out to be a fun night. When we first got there, I checked in, so the Dean of my college could say my name when he announced everyone who had gotten an award. I learned that my major (Cognitive Studies) is under the College of Science, and my Dean is Dr. David Evans. We took a Polaroid picture of us with a 'Dean's List Dinner' sign and then went to find a table. My family sat at a table with my RA and PAL and their families. As we were sitting there we were eating salad and bread and then started playing some table games. We were supposed to look under our chairs to see who was the 'table mascot' for one of the games and it ended up being under my chair. The game was to get an item from everyone sitting at the table and run up to the stage while wearing the items. I was still getting all the items when people had already ran up to the front. After a few more games each Dean went up and read the list of names they had of people who came to the event. We then went to grab our awards from the tables and could talk to our Dean. My Dean was surprised that my major was Cognitive Studies because it is a very small department and not many students are under that major. As we were leaving I got a free t-shirt and a mug filled with candy as 'party favors'. I keep the shirt but gave the mug to my mother. After we went back to my dorm, so I could change, and we could go get groceries. I needed a lot because I did not have anything I could eat for Breakfast or Lunch anymore. After that we came back to my dorm and they left as I put away my groceries. It was a pretty fun night and it was nice to see my family. I hope I can continue to get good grades, so I can make the Dean's List every semester and hopefully graduate with honors (whether that be just honors, high honors, or highest honors).
Thanks for reading my blog! Have you made it on the Dean's List?

Break Was NOT Long Enough!
Coming back to CSU Stanislaus for the second semester gave me a lot of stress. Living back on campus, having to leave my family, and having much more work this semester. It was very hard for me to leave my family and dogs because I am such a family-oriented person. We have had classes for about three weeks now and I have had so much work I feel like my head might explode. This semester I am taking 5 classes: English, Philosophy, Biology, and two online classes that are prerequisites for my major. I have a ton of reading I have to do for each of my classes, and I really do not like reading. For my two online classes I also have online discussions every week and we talk about the chapters that we had read. For one of them I had to read the first four chapters of the book which was about 100 pages total. I almost died, but I eventually got it all done. Now I have to read the next three chapters by this week. For English and Philosophy, I have not had too many problems with and hopefully it stays that way. For Biology I do not have that much reading I have to get done but they say this class has the highest fail rate at the school, so I hope I can pass the class. So far it has not been too hard, but we have our first test coming up on Friday, so we will just have to see how it goes.
Thanks for reading my blog! If anyone else has had struggles with these first couple of weeks comment them down below.
