Dean's List Dinner

On Thursday I went to the Dean's List Dinner. I was invited to go to this dinner because I had a grade point average of 3.5 or higher last semester. My mother and cousin were my guests to the dinner and it turned out to be a fun night. When we first got there, I checked in, so the Dean of my college could say my name when he announced everyone who had gotten an award. I learned that my major (Cognitive Studies) is under the College of Science, and my Dean is Dr. David Evans. We took a Polaroid picture of us with a 'Dean's List Dinner' sign and then went to find a table. My family sat at a table with my RA and PAL and their families. As we were sitting there we were eating salad and bread and then started playing some table games. We were supposed to look under our chairs to see who was the 'table mascot' for one of the games and it ended up being under my chair. The game was to get an item from everyone sitting at the table and run up to the stage while wearing the items. I was still getting all the items when people had already ran up to the front. After a few more games each Dean went up and read the list of names they had of people who came to the event. We then went to grab our awards from the tables and could talk to our Dean. My Dean was surprised that my major was Cognitive Studies because it is a very small department and not many students are under that major. As we were leaving I got a free t-shirt and a mug filled with candy as 'party favors'. I keep the shirt but gave the mug to my mother. After we went back to my dorm, so I could change, and we could go get groceries. I needed a lot because I did not have anything I could eat for Breakfast or Lunch anymore. After that we came back to my dorm and they left as I put away my groceries. It was a pretty fun night and it was nice to see my family. I hope I can continue to get good grades, so I can make the Dean's List every semester and hopefully graduate with honors (whether that be just honors, high honors, or highest honors).

Thanks for reading my blog! Have you made it on the Dean's List?
