Gym Time

Recently I have been going to the gym on campus. I use to play volleyball so that is how I used to exercise up until my senor year of high school. Now that I am in college and the gym is free with our tuition might as well take advantage of it. The first semester I went a few times but ended up being too busy to go, then over winter break I hurt my foot while playing open gym volleyball and it has been hurting me since then. I have decided I will not let that hold me back anymore and have been starting to go to the gym more often, but I would like to talk about my most recent experience. I went with a friend on Saturday but I am not so sure that was my best decision. I had only eaten two mini breakfast sandwiches earlier that morning and then ate a bag of chips and candy then went to the gym... basically on an empty stomach. We ran on the treadmill for 20 minutes and after the work out was over I felt super dizzy and had to sit down for a little before continuing on with the other part of my workout. We continued on with a few other machines before going outside to the track and did a few laps and lunges. I was fine after drinking more water and cooling down a little after the treadmill but i was still hungry so after we came back we showed and I made her food. When I woke up the next morning I was super sore. It was mostly from the lunges and from being lazy and not working out for a few days. Moral of the story is always eat something healthy and a little more filling than candy and chips before working out, and also making sure you drink enough water because being dizzy while workout is one of the worst experiences. I has happened to me in the past and you would think I would already learn from my mistakes but I guess I have not. The soreness is worth it though because it is proof that I am doing something productive in my life.

Thanks for reading my blog! Have you ever gotten dizzy while working out?
