Last semester I went home over the weekend quite often but this semester I have not gone back home yet. There was a storm that came through, so we got about half a foot of snow. I was angry because I was not able to see it because I was not there. I love the snow and it had not snowed all Christmas break, so I had not seen it. The day after I came back to campus it had snowed a little at my house, and I was mad I missed it. Now that more snow has come and actually stuck to the ground I am mad because I was not able to see it. It has been such a long time since I have seen the snow and it always looks so pretty when you wake up after a night of snowfall. My parents sent me pictures of our house after the snow had fallen and I got so jealous because I was not there. I am not jealous of the fact that they had woken up to frozen pipes though. It always sucks waking up and not being able to get ready for the day or cleaning off the cars in the morning to go to work or school. This really just made me miss home and I cannot wait until the next time I get to go back and see my family and dogs. Hopefully next time I go home I it will either snow or we can take a ride up in elevation a little, so I can see it.
Thanks for reading my blog! Have you ever seen the snow because I know quite a few people here who have never seen it.

Dean's List Dinner
On Thursday I went to the Dean's List Dinner. I was invited to go to this dinner because I had a grade point average of 3.5 or higher last semester. My mother and cousin were my guests to the dinner and it turned out to be a fun night. When we first got there, I checked in, so the Dean of my college could say my name when he announced everyone who had gotten an award. I learned that my major (Cognitive Studies) is under the College of Science, and my Dean is Dr. David Evans. We took a Polaroid picture of us with a 'Dean's List Dinner' sign and then went to find a table. My family sat at a table with my RA and PAL and their families. As we were sitting there we were eating salad and bread and then started playing some table games. We were supposed to look under our chairs to see who was the 'table mascot' for one of the games and it ended up being under my chair. The game was to get an item from everyone sitting at the table and run up to the stage while wearing the items. I was still getting all the items when people had already ran up to the front. After a few more games each Dean went up and read the list of names they had of people who came to the event. We then went to grab our awards from the tables and could talk to our Dean. My Dean was surprised that my major was Cognitive Studies because it is a very small department and not many students are under that major. As we were leaving I got a free t-shirt and a mug filled with candy as 'party favors'. I keep the shirt but gave the mug to my mother. After we went back to my dorm, so I could change, and we could go get groceries. I needed a lot because I did not have anything I could eat for Breakfast or Lunch anymore. After that we came back to my dorm and they left as I put away my groceries. It was a pretty fun night and it was nice to see my family. I hope I can continue to get good grades, so I can make the Dean's List every semester and hopefully graduate with honors (whether that be just honors, high honors, or highest honors).
Thanks for reading my blog! Have you made it on the Dean's List?

Break Was NOT Long Enough!
Coming back to CSU Stanislaus for the second semester gave me a lot of stress. Living back on campus, having to leave my family, and having much more work this semester. It was very hard for me to leave my family and dogs because I am such a family-oriented person. We have had classes for about three weeks now and I have had so much work I feel like my head might explode. This semester I am taking 5 classes: English, Philosophy, Biology, and two online classes that are prerequisites for my major. I have a ton of reading I have to do for each of my classes, and I really do not like reading. For my two online classes I also have online discussions every week and we talk about the chapters that we had read. For one of them I had to read the first four chapters of the book which was about 100 pages total. I almost died, but I eventually got it all done. Now I have to read the next three chapters by this week. For English and Philosophy, I have not had too many problems with and hopefully it stays that way. For Biology I do not have that much reading I have to get done but they say this class has the highest fail rate at the school, so I hope I can pass the class. So far it has not been too hard, but we have our first test coming up on Friday, so we will just have to see how it goes.
Thanks for reading my blog! If anyone else has had struggles with these first couple of weeks comment them down below.
